چکیده

Aim: To determine the effect of lactose intolerance on serum glucose levels and related biochemical parameters in adult population who refrain from consuming milk products.Material Method: This retrospective, observational study was conducted a tertiary care hospital between January 2021 December with 296 participants. Plasma glucose, calcium, 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, folate, vitamin B12, thyroid- stimulating hormone (TSH), ferritin were controlled. Patients positive test results accepted as group negative control group, data two groups compared. Results: Of total participants 212 (71.7%) found to have 84 (28.3%) be normal. In intolerant blood significantly lower than (5.14±0.53 mmol/L versus 5.47±0.54 mmol/L, p<0.001). 29 (13.7%) patients, 18 (21.4%) patients having type 2 diabetes mellitus. diabetic both fasting (5.68±0.49 6.30±0.59 p<0.001) glycated hemoglobin also (6.78±1.08 7.62±0.96, p<0.001).Conclusions: this study, based upon findings people insufficient consumption, any decrease calcium or D not observed. Lactose may compared lactase persistent people. Larger-scale long-term studies are needed demonstrate that persistence is an independent risk factor for development diabetes.

Probiotics and Lactose Intolerance

In normal physiological conditions lactose is hydrolyzed by lactase also known as lactasephlorizin hydrolase and under its systemic name lactosegalactosehydrolase (EC 3.2.1.108), which is a brush-border membrane bound enzyme. Glucose and galactose are taken up by the intestinal cells and transported into the bloodstream (Fig. 1). A considerable part of glucose and most galactose is cleared by t...
